Enemy after hitting Iran economy: VP
Important economic sectors in Iran are being targeted by the enemies, the country’s First Vice-President Eshaq Jahangiri said on Tuesday.
Reported by HPMM Group according to IRNA ; ‘It is not simple to tell people we are amid an economic war,’ Jahangiri said at an unveiling ceremony held for ten technological projects in Tehran.
The Americans acknowledge they have started an economic war against Iran, he added.
They are targeting Iran’s “sensitive economic sectors” to hinder promotion of public welfare and development in the country, he stressed.
Targeting Iran’s oil and gas sectors which constitute the country’s main source of income, is one of the goals they are following to achieve, Jahangiri said.
Elaborating on the US anti-Iran measures, the first vice-president said that the enemy has also targeted country’s automotive and petrochemical industries.
Despite the world’s criticism over Washington’s anti-Iran measures, US President Donald Trump reinstated unilateral sanctions on Tehran on November 5 and imposed as he claimed the “highest level” of economic bans on the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iranian experts and youth are well capable of breezing through the difficulties and creating new opportunities, he said.
